While we are all sticking close to home and putting off any travel plans for now for the safety of ourselves and our communities, one thing we can do while isolating is start planning for that first trip we’ll be going on as soon as we can. We don’t know about you, but we’ll be making that a golf trip.
Here are a few tips for planning the perfect golf trip.
Pick a Destination that Works for Everyone
Think about every individual you’re inviting on this trip and what their situation is in terms of time, vacation budget, and how easy it is for them to leave work and/or family for any stretch. If you are inviting a large group of people, your best bet is to pick a destination that isn’t too far away from where you all live. This way it will be more affordable and easier to just go for a couple of days if that’s all that some people can manage.
Planning a trip with just a couple of close golf buddies? Then, depending on their budgets and time constraints, it is more feasible to take a trip further away—St. Andrews, anyone?
Plan Your Games
Plan out how many games you’ll be playing, on which days, and whether you’ll be doing all your golfing at one course or if there are several courses around the area that you want to check out. Make a schedule and share it with whoever is coming on the trip with you so that everyone is on the same page.
Plan Your Non-Golf Time
It’s equally important to plan for the time when you’re not golfing on your trip. Think about whether there are any other places nearby that you want to visit and plan out time for that. And don’t forget to plan a little rest time just to relax and make sure you’re refreshed for when you get out on the links!
Do Your Research
When it comes to planning every aspect of your trip, the number one best thing you can do is research, research, research! Find out about the golf courses you’re planning on playing on, the hotel you’re going to stay in, the local diner that has the best breakfast. Look everything up online, read reviews, and you’ll have a much better time, we promise.
Don’t forget to bring plenty of balls! At Golf Ball Planet, we have a huge selection of used golf balls from all of the most trusted brands.
