The pros are pros for a reason (or a few). They spend a ton of time practicing and perfecting their skill, and us amateurs can learn a lot from watching them. Here are some small things that pro golfers do to improve their game that many amateurs skip. Try adding these to your golf repertoire today and watch what happens.
Warming Up Every Time
A lot of us warm up now and then before golf. A lot of us never do. We pretty much all know that we should, but we don’t realize how important it really is. Stretching your body and warming up with a few swing drills before you hit the course (or the driving range!), whether it’s for practice or to play, goes a long way in improving your game.
Using a Pre-Shot Routine
Having a consistent pre-shot routine that you use every single time can make a huge difference because it trains your brain and body to get into the zone for your shot. Most golf pros stick to a pre-shot routine, and not a lot of amateurs do. For tips on how to create your own perfect pre-shot routine, check out our blog.
Using Putting Lines
When the pros start putting, they pay close attention to their starting line to ensure the best putt possible. You can draw a line on your golf ball with a permanent marker in order to make it easier to align it properly, but the most important thing is to simply take time before you take your shot to read the green and line up the ball accordingly.
Finishing the Swing
Pros know that the end of their swing is just as important as the beginning, while many amateurs don’t pay much attention to their swing after they hit the ball. You should always finish a shot with your head down and your arms up at shoulder height.
Oh, and one other thing the pros do? Play with the balls that are best for their individual game. We have a wide selection of affordable used golf balls from all the best brands for you to choose from.
