Golf fans are excited to watch this year’s Ryder Cup take place at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, close to Rome, from September 28th to October 1st, 2023. In the meantime, the Ryder Cup’s roster has been announced. Here’s who you can expect to see on Team USA and Team Europe this year.
Team USA
This year, Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas will be joining the USA team along with the automatic qualifiers Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele.
The majority of captain’s picks on Team USA already have Ryder Cup experience–in fact, the only one who has never been part of the event before is Sam Burns. The team’s captain’s picks have a combined experience of 14 Ryder Cup appearances total.
With that impressive lineup, many fans are hoping to see the US team take home the win. The last time the US team won a Ryder Cup in Europe was in 1993.
Team Europe
Team Europe’s roster is nothing to scoff at, either. They have an all-star lineup consisting of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, Robert MacIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Sepp Straka, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Nicolai Hojgaard, and Ludvig Aberg.
Rahm won this year’s Masters, making him a huge asset to Team Europe for the Ryder Cup. Europe also has golf greats Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland, along with an entire roster of very solid players.
Whoever comes out on top, the 2023 Ryder Cup is shaping up to be pretty exciting. We can’t wait to see these pros on the course in Guidonia Montecelio. In the meantime, we’re working on our own game–how about you?
