Presidents Cup Scores
This year’s Presidents Cup took place from September 22nd to 25th, 2022, at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The U.S. team came out victorious in the end at 17.5-12.5, but the International team made for some solid competition and great golf to watch.
Stiff Competition on Saturday
Many people were predicting a blowout win for the U.S. team, and the first couple days of the Presidents Cup seemed to be laying out just that. However, Saturday changed things and made the competition a lot closer. The International Team, led by Tom Kim, put up a good fight and ended up winning 5 out of the 8 matches.
An Exciting Rookie Match on Sunday
Sunday brought some great golf from two players striving to prove themselves: the two rookies. Tom Kim and Max Homa, both new to the Presidents Cup, had a great match. The match was close, and after lagging by 3 points behind Kim, Homa came back and managed to secure a win. That win ultimately led to the U.S. team taking the entire Cup.
Victory for Team USA
The U.S. team went into the Sunday singles matches with a 4-point lead. The day proved to be full of worthy competition, with the U.S. and International teams each winning 6 of the 12 matches, which means that 4-point lead that the U.S. went in with ultimately won them the Cup. One of the most notable singles matches was Xander Schauffele (U.S) vs. Corey Conners (International). Schauffele started off struggling, even hitting his ball into a creek, but managed to come back with a massive 218-yard shot. Conners struggled on the green, and Schauffele was able to come back and win the match in the end.
