The Valspar Championship 2021 proved to be some great golf, with Sam Burns coming in as victor of his first PGA Tour.
Valspar Championship 2021 Highlights
Burns came into the final round of the Valspar tied with Keegan Bradley at 14 under. The two went back and forth for a bit, with Burns taking a lead at the 13th hole, then expanding to a three-stroke lead on the 14th, and hit a birdie on the 16th to secure his win with an impressive 3-under 68 over the last 18 holes.
Why We’re Watching Sam Burns
We’re excited not only about Burns’ win at this year’s Valspar Championship, but also about what we’ll be seeing from him in the future. At 24, Burns may not have gotten the same accolades and hype as other golfers his age like Colin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland, he has still had a very impressive career so far. He played two years at LSU and was an All-American, a Haskins Award finalist, and the SEC Player of the Year. Burns is a highly skilled golfer all around, with particularly strengths in ball striking and excellent putting. Burns has been steadily improving his game over the years, and we can’t wait to see where he takes it now that he’s got a PGA Tour win under his belt.
