Scottie Scheffler Arrest Turns Out To Be A Giant Misunderstanding
All Scottie was trying to do was get to work. He wasn’t aware why there was so much traffic, what was causing the delays, and how he was even supposed to make his way up to the clubhouse.
One person told him to pull up, but another officer decided he shouldn’t have.
It happened that quickly.
Scottie Scheffler pulled his car up when he wasn’t supposed to, and he spent the next few hours in jail wondering if he was going to wake up from this nightmare.
After a few weeks of analyzing video footage and some legal discussions, the charges were dropped. The only stipulation was that all parties must waive the right to pursue legal action in the future.
Scheffler’s legal team agreed and moved forward.
What Kind of Impact Does This Have?
We all know that golf is a mental game. When you get to the professional level, the way the mind plays into the scoring is even more involved. At some point, you realize that most professionals are great ball strikers.
The question becomes who can keep it together and play four solid rounds in a row.
When you get on a roll in golf, the last thing you want to do is see it come crashing down.
Unfortunately for Scottie, there was a real fear that he could lose his run, and that things would fall apart for him.
However, we have to remember he is Scottie Scheffler.
Scottie Wins the Memorial Tournament
Although Scottie could not win the PGA Championship, he returned just a few weeks later and held off Collin Morikawa to win the Memorial Tournament.
He stood there with his wife Meredith, baby Bennett, and Jack Nicklaus. This, just three weeks after his mugshot at the PGA Championship, shows us just how quickly life can change.
Will Scheffler Dominate the Rest of the Season?
Now that Scottie Scheffler has this mess behind him, we all wait patiently to see if he can dominate the rest of the golf season. He’s certainly off to an impressive start already this year.
He has always maintained that golf is a game that he plays, and while it matters to him, family and being a good person matter the most.
Perhaps Scheffler’s clarity in conveying this message helped him get out of the mess surrounding the PGA Championship.
